Here at Summerdown we’re passionate about the English countryside and our natural habitat. That’s why over the years we’ve been working closely with international charity Plantlife on conversation projects to protect the wildflowers on our Hampshire farm.
Sadly, Britain’s wild flowers are disappearing. They are being lost at a rate of up to nearly one species per year per county, and the rate of loss is accelerating. And when wild flowers disappear, so does all the wildlife that relies on them.
Plantlife is working to save wild flowers and bring back the colour to our countryside. They’re working on conservation projects across England, Wales and Scotland, with the public, landowners, Government, volunteers and in our nature reserves. We want to help them encourage a better understanding of wild flowers, and one way we can do this is by growing them in our gardens.
