We’re delighted to have won the Basingstoke Agricultural Society's award for the Farm Diversification category.
The judges’ reasons for awarding this honour to Summerdown included; growing such a rare crop on the farm; the invention of the distilling process, using standard farm equipment, the forage harvester and farm labour; selling both the raw peppermint and the oil as well as the diverse range of Summerdown Mint products; the fact that the business is all run from the farm buildings and that the Summerdown Mint business runs very much in parallel with other farming operations by the same team on the same farm.
