Friday 19th July 2024 - 10am to 12noon
We’ve been growing, harvesting and distilling Black Mitcham peppermint for almost three decades, all on our family farm in the Hampshire countryside. Throughout June, July and August the farm team are busy harvesting and distilling over 300 acres of beautifully fragranced camomile, peppermint and lavender herbs.
Join us for a tour to experience the journey of our peppermint, from field to pure English essential oil, to boxes of chocolates and bottles of heavenly body, bath and home fragrance treats. We'll walk through our fields then visit our distillery where our Master of Mint, Ian Margetts will talk us through the process.
We'll finish with the opportunity to taste some Summerdown treats, made with our Black Mitcham peppermint.
Although the weather wouldn't deter us if it is a bit 'British' it might affect the experience, so we'll have a wet weather alternative. The seasonal weather also has a direct influence on the timings of when we can harvest and distil, but we will endeavour to demonstrate all we are able to on the day. Suitable footwear for uneven ground and muddy tracks is essential.
After booking your tour we will email you within 7 days giving full details of the event. A full refund is available up to 14 days prior to the tour date. If cancelling within 14 days prior to the tour date, an exchange to a different tour of the same value can be offered.
We can accommodate bespoke farm visits and group tours, so for more information or if you have any further questions do feel free to email welcome@summerdown.com.
